• Make sure your dog is on a short leash.
• Keep your pets away from produce and plants.
• Dogs need to be okay with other dogs and children.
• Please understand that not everyone is a dog lover.
• Always clean-up after your pet.

Voters To Make $132 Million Decision Tuesday - Des Moines News Story - KCCI Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa — Voters will make a $132 million decision on Tuesday about plans to renovate and expand the Polk County Courthouse.

Attorneys, judges and their staff who spend time at the Polk County courthouse say they’ve simply outgrown the century-old building. Supporters of the plan say there needs to be a compehensive solution to safety, security and overcrowding issue in the existing building.

Tuesday, residents will vote on a plan to renovate the building and construct a new courthouse annex building across the street.

PLEASANT HILL, Iowa — Thirteen students have been charged with vandalizing school buses at the Southeast Polk School District.

The students are accused of deflating tires on as many as 40 buses, and spreading cat litter and fish bait on the floors, windows and doors of the buses. The vandalism was discovered by drivers when they arrived for work on April 21.
